Originally scheduled for 31st October 2024, the new date of implementation for the UK’s ENS for EU goods has been moved to 31st January 2025.
From 31st January 2025, carriers or hauliers will be legally responsible for submitting Safety and Security declarations when shipping goods from the EU to the UK. A party other than the carrier, such as the importer or an intermediary, can lodge the declaration on the carrier’s behalf, although the carrier remains responsible for ensuring the Safety and Security declaration is submitted.
