CLECAT has joined PostEurop, European Express Association and ECSLA European Cold Storage and Logistics Association in calling on the European Commission to clarify how the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation applies to transport and logistics.
Per CLECAT:
- Our sector supports the Regulation’s sustainability objectives. Businesses now need clear answers on manufacturer and producer responsibilities, Declarations of Conformity, EPR obligations and the practical application of reuse requirements.
- Uncertainty over these rules risks divergent implementation across Member States, additional costs and unnecessary administrative burdens.
- Our joint letter calls for practical EU guidance and simpler requirements that support compliance and reflect how logistics supply chains operate.
