During 3rd – 8 th October 2016, senior level executives (freight, distribution and logistics) from around the globe will converge on Dublin for the 55th FIATA World Congress in the spectacular Convention Centre Dublin. The 2015 FIATA World Congress was recently held in September in Taipei, Taiwan where the torch was officially passed to Ireland through the handover of FIATA’s ceremonial Talking Stick during the Closing Ceremony of the 2015 Congress.

This prestigious annual event is being brought to Irish shores by the Irish International Freight Association (IIFA), who successfully bid for the Congress during 2013 FIATA World Congress in Singapore. IIFA extends a special invitation to its fellow FIATA National Associations and their member firms to join them for a Congress program that promises to have an inspiring mix of engaging speakers and collaboration based workshops, exploring new trends in global logistics, best practice, trading opportunities and technological innovation in an ever changing global logistics market. The annual FIATA World Congress is the highlight of the Freight Forwarding calendar year and 2016 in particular will be important as Ireland will be helping FIATA to celebrate its 90th anniversary.

Working under the theme of ”Where Networking Comes Naturally” the major focus for the 2016 Congress will be creating opportunities, both formal and ah-hoc, for Delegates to make new connections and to grow their networks. The last time this World Congress was held in Europe was Geneva 2009, and the Irish Freight Forwarding community are delighted to bring this important event back to Europe.

Typical attendees include important executives from the transportation sector:

Logistics Firms

Freight Forwarders

Land, Air, Sea, Rail, Combined Transport Companies

Cargo and Courier Transporters

Logistic Centres and Warehousing

Customs Clearance Companies

For international visitors, a social program is being prepared which will allow our guests to have a full taste of Dublin city and Irish culture. Accompanying Persons will enjoy a full day tour of the Irish countryside and a half day tour of Dublin. Ahead of the Congress, there is also a day trip to the Titanic Exhibition in Belfast allowing both full Delegates and Accompanying Persons the opportunity to explore Ireland, outside of Dublin, together.
