Following a successful pilot programme earlier this year, IIFA will continue with an asynchronous structure for the Autumn 2026 cohort. The Introduction to Freight Forwarding course delivers a light touch introduction to the industry, with Participants gaining an understanding how the industry works, how each section operates and how they then all connect.
The course is delivered via a combination of pre-recorded webinars and text-based lessons, accompanied by transcripts, revision questions and a downloadable workbook for learners to test their knowledge. Participants will gain an understanding of how the industry works, how each section operates, how they then all connect and the key concepts and terminology for Air, Road and Sea Freight along with Customs Clearance.
Past participants in the course have worked in both operations and non-operations roles, including Human Resources and Finance.
Participants will have access to IIFA’s learning platform, through which all the learning materials are accessible. New material is released weekly, available through text, pre-recorded video and other interactive elements. The lessons are designed to be digestible in short, on-demand formats, to give participants more control over their learning hours.
Support throughout the course is available through five Virtual Classroom sessions. These sessions are an opportunity for IIFA to check on participants’ progress, and to provide support to participants on any areas of difficulty.
There are three assessments throughout the course: two written assignments (open book), and a final written exam in Pearse College Dublin.
