InterTradeIreland hosted their ‘Unlocking New Cross-Border Trade Opportunities’ conference yesterday, on 27th September 2023, at the Printworks Event and Exhibition Centre, Dublin Castle.
The conference was primarily aimed at Exporters, highlighting emerging cross-border trade prospects for businesses, and displaying the latest free support available to help businesses navigate the post-Brexit trading environment. Business leaders and trade expert Dr Vincent Power SC, widely recognised as Ireland’s most experienced EU competition lawyer, was the Keynote Speaker and share his insights at the event, hosted by former RTÉ journalist Tommie Gorman.
The conference also launched InterTradeIreland’s new Cross-Border Trade Hub, a digital ‘one stop shop’ that guides companies through the changes to cross-border trading conditions. Essentially a knowledge hub for starting with international trade, Intertrade Ireland’s Cross-Border Trade Hub replaces the BREXIT Support voucher scheme which businesses, and many IIFA Members, would have used in the past.
It is possible to avail of a grant of up to €2,300 toward training or consultancy, which will aid a business and undertaking or facilitating international trade. IIFA members can avail of this training by visiting the Cross-Border Trade Hub and engaging with Clariti, the Cross-Border Trade Hub chatbot.
Margaret Hearty, CEO, Intertrade Ireland
Speaking ahead of the conference, InterTradeIreland’s CEO Margaret Hearty said:
Cross-border trade is booming, reaching an estimated all time high of around €12bn in 2022. It is important for all businesses to fully understand the practical implications of the new trading arrangements and how they can strategically and efficiently access the cross-border market. The Cross-Border Trade Hub is therefore a crucial resource for businesses. It is an independent, impartial and trusted online support through which they can keep informed of current trade matters and access specialist technical advice.
IIFA Members interested in utilising the Cross-Border Trade Hub for funding toward IIFA training and contact the Association direct for assistance in this area.
