DHL Global Forwarding Ireland (DGF) are thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with Blood Bikes East who are non-profit organisation committed to providing free, rapid response medical transport services to HSE Hospitals, medical centres, hospices and other medical facilities in the greater Dublin area.
Eighteen dedicated individuals from the Blood Bikes East group made a visit to the DHL Global Forwarding Head Office, where they revealed the two recently sponsored motorcycles by DHL earlier this month. These motorcycles symbolize DHL's strong dedication to corporate social responsibility and will serve as vital assets in facilitating the transportation of urgently needed medical supplies.
DHL Global Forwarding Ireland CEO, Maurice Meade, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, saying “DHL Global Forwarding are delighted to be associated with Blood Bikes East, a relatively small voluntary organisation who ‘fly under the radar’ but make a real difference to patient wellbeing and support to our Medical Service. This partnership exemplifies DGF’s commitment to give back to the community. This aligns with our purpose of ‘connecting people, improving lives”.
Blood Bikes East is equally excited about the partnership. Feilim MacCríosta, Chair of Blood Bikes East commented, “Today's generous donation of 2 motorbikes from DHL ensures that our services can continue uninterrupted as a modern fleet means better safety for our volunteers not to mention lower maintenance for our fleet team, a huge THANK YOU to Maurice and his whole team"
About Blood Bikes East
Established in 2012 Blood Bikes East is an Emergency Medical Transport Service providing free out of hours delivery service under SLA for hospitals and health care facilities in the Greater Dublin Area. As a 100% volunteer charity it receives no government funding and relies on donations from the general public and corporate sponsors to operate. During the Covid crisis they experienced a massive increase in demand for service and that has not eased materially, In common with many other charitable bodies they continue to look for volunteers to cover multiple roles from riders/drivers to controllers, fundraisers and social media.
