Customs Support Group Expands Irish Operations with Acquisition of Beagans Limited

Customs Support Group (CSG), Europe’s leading independent provider of customs and trade solutions, is proud to announce the acquisition of Beagans Limited, a long-established, AEO-certified customs broker based in Dundalk, Ireland. This acquisition strengthens CSG’s position as Ireland’s leading customs clearance provider, further expanding its UK and Ireland cluster.

Founded in 1953 and now in its third generation of family ownership, Beagans Limited brings decades of experience and deep expertise in customs clearance and excise duty management, along with strong capabilities in the food and agriculture sectors. The company has built trusted, long-standing relationships with clients in Ireland and Northern Ireland, and has extensive knowledge of the local market, particularly in handling exports and imports through Dublin Port. This strengthens CSG’s capabilities and reinforces the Group’s strategic presence across Ireland and the UK–Ireland trade corridor.

The acquisition further consolidates Customs Support Group’s position across the island of Ireland by adding scale and depth to its operations, increasing capacity to manage complex customs cases, and broadening capabilities in areas such as deep-sea trade and excise goods. Both companies will continue to operate from their existing offices, ensuring seamless service for clients throughout the integration.

Leveraging Beagans Limited’s digital capabilities, including modern customs software for fast and accurate declarations, CSG will expand and streamline its operations across the region. With this acquisition, the Group’s UK and Irish workforce will total approximately 250 experts, boosting cross-border support and operational capacity.

Commenting on the acquisition, John Wegman, CEO of Customs Support Group, said: “Acquiring Beagans Limited is a significant milestone for expanding our Irish operations and reinforcing the industries we serve. By combining Beagans Limited’s deep market expertise with our European network, we can offer clients even more comprehensive solutions, greater capacity, and a streamlined UK–Ireland goods flow. We are proud to welcome the Beagans Limited team to the Customs Support Group family.”

Since entering the Irish market through the acquisition of Bell Transport & Logistics Ltd in 2021, Customs Support Ireland’s business has built a strong reputation for efficient, reliable customs solutions in complex post-Brexit environments – capabilities that are now further strengthened through the addition of Beagans Limited.

In this transaction, both sides were supported by their trusted advisors: Grant Thornton and Kane Tuohy for Beagans Limited, and Key Capital, Wallace Corporate Counsel, Rödl & Partner, Kiely & Co, and Ploum & Matheson for Customs Support Group.
