On Wednesday 4th September 2019, 26 Individuals from across Ireland’s Freight, Logistics and Customs Brokerage industries gathered to celebrate their achievement in joining the ranks of Irish FIATA Diploma Holders.
From Freight Forwarders to Students, Hauliers to Software Engineers, all 26 successfully completed the 10 modules required covering the cornerstones of the Industry, assessed through practical assignments, monthly online tests, and a final written examination.
IIFA President Bob Rainsford congratulated all Graduates for their efforts and commitment over the past year. He also extended his congratulations to the Association as this class Group brought their number of total Graduates of this programme to the milestone of 250.
For the first time, IIFA focused a celebration on a Student of the Year; Deborah Punch of Vitograph (Irl) Ltd. Grainne Thornbury, Education Coordinator for IIFA, highlighted that Deborah entered the training from outside of the Industry and while this commanded a steeper learning curve for Deborah, her interest in the Industry and enthusiasm for every module saw her through to successful completion and a Distinction grade. Grainne congratulated Deborah for her achievement, which was echoed by all in attendance through thunderous applause.
The 2019 – 2020 IIFA FIATA Diploma Group commenced the week previous, with another 26 ready to undertake learning Cargo Transport by Land, Sea and Air, Dangerous Goods, Customs Clearance procedures and more.
